Cost Per Action, sometimes misconstrued as Cost Per Acquisition, is a metric in online advertising that measures the cost an advertiser pays for a specified action tied to their advertisement. This action can range from a sale to a click, or even a form submission such as a contact request or newsletter sign-up. Essentially, advertisers only pay when the desired action is achieved, making it a performance-based pricing model. This approach is especially popular in affiliate marketing, where advertisers pay affiliates only for leads that result in the desired outcome, like a sale.
